Emmerdale teases explosive split for beloved couple after – with a fresh love triangle on the horizon
One newcomer brings trouble to the fan favourite pair.
LOVE in the Dales is nothing short of tumultuous, especially if a third party gets involved.
Emmerdale welcomes a new character next week and it could hint at trouble for favourite couple Mandy Dingle and Paddy Kirk.
Paddy Kirk (portrayed by Dominic Brunt) decided to give his relationship with Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) last year, following the breakdown of his marriage with Chas Dingle.
Fans of the Yorkshire-based program will remember, the Woolpack pub manager embarked on an affair with the late Al Chapman as she was trying to overcome her grief after her mother’s death.
Paddy’s rekindled romance with Mandy has since been peaceful but things are about to be flipped on their head.
To top it all off, the couple make a new friend in the form of Ella Forster, portrayed by actress Paula Lane – could she cause trouble?
As regular soap viewers may recall, Paula became a household name when she appeared in rival ITV show Coronation Street as Kylie Platt.
Coming up next week, Mandy arrives at the vets’ social, dressed in an extravagant Liz Hurley inspired outfit.
When a loud-mouthed managing director, Jules, rudely teases her about her dress, her blood boils as Paddy panders to him, and refuses to introduce Mandy as his girlfriend.
Paddy opens up to Mandy about his insecurities around Jules and although she’s hurt, she agrees to support him.
Overhearing Jules lambasting his PA, Ella, Mandy consoles her and this has devastating consequences.
When Jules makes some more rude comments about Mandy, Ella pours a drink over him.
Returning to the group, Paddy mistakenly blames Mandy for the chaos.
Will Mandy be able to forgive Paddy’s behaviour?
Later on in the Hide, an encounter with village GP Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) leaves Ella with a potential job opportunity as a receptionist at the new surgery.
But will she take it?
Speaking about her character, Paula Lane explained that Ella Forster could be wreaking havoc in upcoming scenes – but there are plenty of good things about her
“She is 29. She’s a single woman who is very professional.”
“She doesn’t mince her words but she’s not scrappy. She’s definitely a good friend to have on your side.”
However, she also teased twists and turns in the local surgery, including a potential love triangle.
“There’s already been a relationship going on there at the minute in the surgery.”
“So I don’t know. There might be some fireworks, there’s a little bit of competition, perhaps. Little love triangle going on.
Could she come in between Paddy and Mandy?
Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
