Grant Mitchell return ‘sealed’ after huge discovery at Aunt Sal’s funeral
EastEnders spoilers tease some big news linked to former character Grant Mitchell on the BBC soap next week, amid fans hoping Ross Kemp's character will make a comeback
EastEnders viewers will no doubt be hoping for a Grant Mitchell return once they see spoilers for next week’s episodes.
The Mitchells gather together at a time of grief, following the news Aunt Sal has passed away. Phil Mitchell, his sister Sam Mitchell and the others join together to say goodbye to the soap legend at her funeral in scenes next week.
They’re joined by two new arrivals, with Sal’s husband Harold attending the ceremony, while according to a press release Billy Mitchell’s dad Stevie will also debut at some point as part of the episodes. But there’s mention of a past character that could seal a major return, just as fans have called for.
Grant is mentioned in an episode next week, as Sam makes a big discovery at the funeral about her and her siblings. She finds out that Aunt Sal has left the three of them £100,000 in inheritance.
The news leaves Sam in shock, with her completely unaware she’d been left any money. She confronts Phil and demands her share of the money, but he refuses to hand it over.
Sam turns to dirty tactics to get what she wants, resorting to blackmail after finding out from Alfie Moon that Phil cheated on wife Kat. Viewers know that Phil slept with Emma Harding last year, and when Sam finds out she decides to blackmail Phil for the inheritance money.
Whether she will get her own way remains to be seen, and by the end of the week the siblings are falling out as Sam drops the cheating bombshell on Kat and all of Walford in the pub. As for Grant, could he learn of this inheritance money and head back to Walford to claim what’s his?
It’s not to say Grant doesn’t already know about it, and perhaps Phil has already transferred the money over to him. But with Grant being mentioned again, fans will no doubt continue to call for the soap legend to return.
Could his aunt’s death be what brings him home, after he was last on screen in 2016? Might he rock up and demand the money from Phil?
